Rev. Kathleen McShane
Rev. Kathleen McShane is Director of Learning and Innovation for Wesleyan Impact Partners and Texas Methodist Foundation, and Pastor of First United Methodist Church of Paso Robles, California. An ordained Elder in the United Methodist Church, she led four congregations in the California-Nevada Conference and served as Vice President for Institutional Advancement at Pacific School of Religion in Berkeley, California, for eight years. Before attending seminary and beginning her life in ministry, she was a civil litigator practicing law in the San Francisco Bay Area.
Kathi is the co-founder of the Changemaker Initiative, a small national movement of churches committed to empowering laypeople to become compassion-driven changemakers like Jesus. That work has led her to multiple projects that are re-imagining leadership for the church of the future. She is the co-author, with Rabbi Elan Babchuck, of Picking Up the Pieces: Leadership after Empire (Fortress Press).
