Called to Bear Much Fruit
Jul 10, 2025
“I am the vine, and you are the branches. Those who abide in me and I in them bear much fruit.” — John 15:5
In a vineyard, grafting is the art of joining the buds of new vines to established, resilient rootstock to nourish and protect the new vines until they bear their own fruit. In turn, this feeds energy and nutrients back into the rootstock, so the entire vineyard flourishes. And, it turns out, almost every vine that bears fruit has been grafted.
In the church, grafting is the art of joining innovative ministries to the deep traditions of the established church, bringing forth new ways of doing Christ’s loving work in the world. In turn, this feeds imagination and renewed hopefulness back into the church, nurturing God’s vineyard.
Each of us is called to bear fruit. Rooted in God's love, abiding in Jesus, we can reimagine ways to be the hands and feet of Christ to offer love and grace and belonging.
At Wesleyan Impact Partners, we are committed to helping the church bear the fruit of God's love today and long into the future.
